KABOOM!

© Aaron Feinberg

Popular Photography and Adobe® challenged photographers across the globe to submit their most stunning images to the Lightroom Through Your Lens Contest-to be judged not only by their fellow photographers, but also by the seasoned editors of Popular Photography magazine. After sifting through over 1,000 entries submitted by inspired photographers, one mesmerizing seascape rose to the top. Taken by Aaron Feinberg and aptly titled "Kaboom!" this image captured everything we were hoping for from a contest winner.
Aaron tells us how he managed to snag such a well-timed shot: "When the surf is just right, this wave forms-but not frequently. This was the third time I had come back to this spot to capture the shot. On this particular day, for the two hours I spent watching the surf, the wave only appeared once. It was pretty surreal. "
"This image shows just how easy and quick it is to totally transform and upgrade an image in Lightroom. All I did here was adjust basic brightness and exposure, add a touch of fill light and contrast, and use black clipping for tonal control. I didn't have to use the swift and handy Adjustment Brush, but the before and after are miles apart, thanks to Lightroom."

MODEL: ASHLIEY

This was one of my first pictures that I've taken on my DSLR camera. We didn't really know what we were working with, we just decided to go out, create a theme, and take pictures. When I loaded this picture on the computer, I already knew it was going to be one of my favorites.
